Centre for the Arts, Brock University presents The Joel Plaskett Emergency with special guest Frank Turner “One of the country’s foremost singer-songwriters.” (National Post) Through years of touring and recording, Joel Plaskett had earned numerous East Coast Music Awards and JUNO nominations and the reputation as an entertaining and engaging performer. But it was with the release of his incredible three-disc album, appropriately named, Three in 2009, that Plaskett was nominated for the prestigious Polaris Prize and won the JUNO for Adult Alternative Album of the Year and things really started to take off. With his band, The Emergency, Plaskett brings his unique blend of rock, folk, pop and country to an amazingly concentrated focus where his lyrics and melodies shine with polish and brilliance.
